Procedures for School at WHS Monday, April 9

Parents/Guardians of Williston High School:

On Friday afternoon, Williston High School received a phone call from a still unknown suspect saying there was a bomb at the school. After evacuating the school of students and staff, law enforcement searched the school and found no evidence of any explosives.

The search of WHS was conducted by members of the Williston Police Department, Williams County SWAT, Williams County Sheriff’s Office, and United States Air Force.

Though no evidence of a bomb was found, we have been encouraged to take precautionary measures for Williston High School Monday, April 9. These include:

  • All students and staff may only enter WHS through Door 1 (at the front office)
  • There will be an increased law enforcement presence on campus

Again, this is purely a temporary precautionary measure. All events scheduled for WHS on Monday will take place as usual.

Please expect some delays and adjust your schedule accordingly.

If anyone, especially students, has any information that would help with the still ongoing investigation into Friday’s threat, please contact the Williston Police Department at 701-577-1212.
