We Need Your Input!

We want your feedback and thoughts!

Williston Public School District #1 has started a Thought Exchange. The new superintendent and school board are developing a plan for our future, and we need your input in this critical discussion.

We want to provide an outstanding education for the children in our community, and to do that, we need your ideas.

Here are some of the issues we face:

  • WPSD #1 is the sixth largest district in North Dakota based on students but has the smallest amount of land, with just 16 square miles.

  • K-12 enrollment has greatly outpaced previous projections.

  • We are at maximum capacity.

  • Some of our classes have more than 30 students.

  • Future enrollment projections continue to grow.

  • We are over-utilizing temporary, outdated modular structures.

  • New construction cannot use operational funding of the district. The majority would need to rely on local bond referendums.

This ThoughtExchange will be used to direct our decisions.  Your voice matters, and we are listening. Your time and input is truly valued!
