On the afternoon of January 21, 2021, Dr. Jeffrey Thake accepted the Superintendent position for Williston Basin School District #007. Dr. Thake is the current Williston Public School District #1 Superintendent and has played a vital role in the reorganization process from the beginning stages to now.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to lead WBSD #7 into the future. This is a tremendous opportunity to expand on the personalization of public education through school and community partnerships as we continue to push the envelope towards innovation in public education,” stated Dr. Thake.

On December 8, 2020, voters in both districts approved the Reorganization Plan to become a unified school district. The current Williams County School District #8 and Williston Public School District #1 will officially transition to Williston Basin School District #007 on July 1, 2021.
