Kindergarten Pre-Registration

Kindergarten Roundup Changes

Due to unforeseen circumstances involving the spread of COVID-19, we are cancelling our in-person Kindergarten Roundup events originally scheduled for April 6 & 7, 2020.  We will instead be moving to an online pre-registration process.

Kindergarten Pre-Registration Form can be accessed here. And in Spanish here.

Please know that this pre-registration will not take the place of the online enrollment form, which will be sent to parents/guardians via email once the pre-registration is completed and the required documents have been submitted.  If you have any questions regarding Kindergarten Enrollment, please contact enrollment@willistonschools.org or (701)572-1580 ext. 1012.

FAQs:

Q:  What is a “Pre-Registration”?

A:  The pre-registration form provides the necessary information our enrollment team needs to have to start the enrollment process.  Typically, this is done in person at our District Office, but is now being handled online.

Q: If my child doesn’t turn 5 until August 2, 2020, can I enroll them in kindergarten?

A: No, per North Dakota Century Code 15.1-06-01, the student must be 5 years old by August 1 of that school year.

Q: What are the required forms?

A: WPSD#1 requires a state-certified copy of the student’s birth certificate, current immunization record, primary proof of residency, secondary proof of residency, and ND Photo ID/Driver’s License or Tribal Card. (Details below)

Q:  Will I be able to request a school for my student?

A:  Yes, you will be able to make a request on the pre-registration form.  Please note that we do not guarantee placement in requested schools.

Q:  What happens after the pre-registration?

A:  Once our enrollment team has processed the pre-registration form and verified that all required documents have been provided, the parent/guardian will receive an online enrollment form to their provided email address.  The online enrollment form must be completed and submitted before that student is enrolled into WPSD#1.
