With only 𝟵 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁 to respond, we’re still quite a ways from our 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘀. This survey is important and only takes 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘀! You can even 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 on Map Draft #3.

Williston Basin School District #7 is pleased to announce that Ms. Susan Prady has been selected as the principal of Sloulin Elementary School, opening in the fall of 2026. Ms. Prady was chosen last week through a rigorous selection process led by a hiring committee of teachers, administration, and HR. Her contract will be finalized at the April 7 School Board meeting.
Ms. Prady brings over 20 years of experience in both classroom teaching and school administration. Originally from California, she has a strong background in special education and has demonstrated exceptional ability to meet the diverse needs of students. One of her standout achievements was the successful implementation of an English Language (EL) program that significantly improved student achievement—a program that was later adopted district-wide.
In addition to her instructional leadership, Ms. Prady has extensive knowledge of education laws, policies, curriculum development, and school finances. She believes that all students are capable of learning when provided with the right support and is committed to fostering an environment where both students and staff feel safe, valued, and supported. Passionate about professional development, she ensures that teacher training is meaningful and impactful. Ms. Prady also prioritizes school safety, proactively preparing staff and students for emergency situations.
Ms. Prady is excited to join the Williston community after visiting for over 13 years to spend time with her daughter and grandchildren, who live locally. "I am honored to serve as the new principal of Sloulin Elementary School and to join the vibrant Williston community,” said Ms. Prady. “I look forward to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff as we work together to create an exceptional educational experience for all.”
Outside of education, Ms. Prady enjoys hiking, cooking, baking, and recently took up pickleball. A fan of both NFL football and motocross, she also enjoys tackling home DIY projects and spending time with her family.
We are confident that Ms. Prady’s leadership, vision, and dedication to education will positively impact Sloulin Elementary School and the Williston community for years to come.
Ms. Prady’s contract will begin on July 1, 2025. During the 2025/2026 school year, she will focus on preparing the school for its opening by helping make decisions about final details, hiring staff, and ensuring the school is ready to welcome students in August 2026. She will also spend time getting to know the district’s culture, practices, and procedures while providing administrative support and assistance to other elementary schools.

We want to bring to your attention some recent concerns raised by members of our school community.
The district has received several reports about unsafe driving practices during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times. These concerns include speeding in school zones, distracted driving, and double parking, all of which create potentially dangerous situations for our students, staff, and families.
To help address these issues and ensure everyone’s safety, we ask for your cooperation with the following safety guidelines during drop-off and pick-up.
Please visit our School Safety webpage at www.WillistonSchools.org/school-safety for more information.

The Williston Basin School District #7 invites the community to celebrate the groundbreaking of its new elementary school on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 5:00 PM. The ceremony will take place in Williston Square at 1316 33rd St W.
Construction for the new elementary school will commence this fall, with the school slated to open its doors in August 2026. This project is made possible by the passing of the bond referendum in April 2024, a major milestone in addressing the district’s continued enrollment growth.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be held in partnership with JLG Architects, JE Dunn Construction, and the City of Williston.
