Reminder: All Williston Basin School District #7 schools and offices will be closed on Monday, September 5th in honor of Labor Day.

Welcome back everybody! As we begin our new school year and close out the month of August, we are so excited to begin sharing activities, events, and school happenings occurring at Rickard! As we begin posting pictures, you may notice some stickers placed on our students' faces. Under FERPA guidelines, certain student information is protected by law. This means that WBSD #7 and Rickard Elementary have permission from parents/guardians to post student pictures on our school website, Rickard Facebook page, ParentSquare, etc. Permission slips were available at our open house which took place on August 22. If you did not sign this permission slip at our open house, slips were sent home with those students we do not have. If you choose to decline, your student's face will be edited with a mark to protect their privacy. Thank you for our support of all Rickard Roadrunners!

โโโโGood morning RIckard Families!
Thank you for being mindful of our โarrival and dismissal procedures the past couple days! I am pleased with how well it flowed. Moving forward, parents will no longer โbe allowed to walk โkiddos into the building unless you have โthe badge stating you have gone through the steps to be a volunteer in our schools, per the district policy. I have attached the steps and we welcome โyou to become a volunteer! This includes being able to come participate in class parties โor watch a special event such as field day in the spring. Thank you for your cooperation to keep our students and staff safe!

During our teacher in-service on Friday, our guest speaker was none other than the amazing Gerry Brooks. He is an elementary principal from Lexington, Kentucky and has recently found world-wide fame with his comedic videos about various happenings in schools. He spoke to our district about the importance of keeping a positive school culture in our community and building relationships with students! It was an amazing experience with many stories, laughs, and good conversation!

Our staff participated in a school-wide "Pie in the Face" with winners from the Heart Challenge and Battle of the Books getting to select who they wanted to pie! It was a fun afternoon and we can't wait until next year!

Mrs. Carnes' 4th graders also participated in some "Minute-to-Win It" games during the last week of school. Students participated in several challenges that tested their quick thinking skills and determination!

The Rickard staff played against the 4th graders this past Tuesday in some friendly games of kickball. You could tell because the Rickard staff could barely walk around the school the next day!

The 4th graders celebrated the last week of school by walking to Harmon Park and having some Dairy Queen ice cream!

More kickball pictures!
