preliminary budget approval

The Williston Basin School District #7 Board approved the 2023-2024 preliminary budget and filing the certificate of levy at the 8/7/23 special school board meeting. 
 
The figures were prepared by Mr. Kent Anderson, Business Manager and Dr. Richard H. Faidley, Superintendent. The preliminary budget is based on fall enrollment of 5,300 students and 721 full-time employees.  
 
The School Board approved the following budgeted expenditures: 

  • General Fund: $72,765,000
  • Certificate of Indebtedness Fund: $1,385,800
  • Capital Projects Fund: $28,452,000
  • Sinking & Interest Fund: $2,363,000
  • Food Service Fund: $3,955,00

 
The School Board approved filing the certificate of levy for 116.08 total mills (4 less than last year), along with the 2023-2024 preliminary budget, and will file the preliminary budget with the county by August 10, 2023. 
                                                                
The final budget hearing will be held on September 25, 2023 at 5:30 PM in the Commission Room of the Williams County Administration Building.
