Mrs. Veitz's Spring 2023 Graphic Design students got the opportunity to experience a real world design job - Susie Q's new ice cream truck rolling out this Summer 2023!
Students who submitted their designs by the deadline received a free ice cream treat, and the two winning designers (Moss Newson and Nydia Gonzalez) received cash prizes from Susie Q herself! The two winners' designs were combined into different aspects of the truck design, business cards, and other printed materials for Susie's business.
Susan Elsbernd came to Mrs. Veitz last fall with the idea and the pair worked together to determine what that would look like - a full truck wrap, banner, and redesigned logo. Students were given a template to work with in Adobe Illustrator and could use what they learned in both Photoshop and Illustrator to complete their designs.
Susan was very impressed by all the designs and complemented all on their creativity! While she wasn't able to incorporate all the chosen design aspects this year, she hopes to add a waffle cone style wrap across the bottom of the truck in the future.
Congrats to our students!
