Congratulations to our own Dr. Germundson!! Dr. Germundson was a presenter at the NDCEL 2022 Fall Conference. His presentation was on Belonging In Schools. In the presentation Dr. Germundson explained how important it is for students to belong in school. He then explained how you can use a simple survey to measure it and ways to improve belonging.

On Thursday October 6th, Mr. Sando and students from the WHS Aviation Program went to the North Dakota Aviation Association career expo in Fargo, ND. Katherine Troutman, James Railey Cabrera and Titus Lee each received $1000.00 scholarships. Alexis Grano and Ivan Moran won a trip to Minneapolis to tour Delta Airlines facilities. They learned about careers in aviation and listened to college students talk about what it is like to be in aviation programs at the University of North Dakota and Northland College. They also toured the Fargo Air Traffic Control Tower.

Nick Winton, son of Sir Nicholas Winton, will be in Williston on Sunday, November 6th to share his father’s amazing Holocaust story with our community.
Sir Nicholas Winton is a British humanitarian credited with organizing a Kindertransport of 669 mostly Jewish children from Czechoslovakia on the eve of World War II. What made 29-year-old Nicky give up his skiing holiday to rescue these children from the Nazis and how did he do it? Winton’s son Nick will tell his father’s inspiring story about the life-changing events that transformed the destiny of so many.
Some of you may be familiar with the children’s book Nicky & Vera that tells this story. Please spread the word of this event. More publicity is coming out soon.
This event is set for Sunday, November 6th at 4pm at Williston High School in the theater and open to the public.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
