Seeking Applicants for School Board Vacancy
Following the resignation of school board director Jeremy Brenner in March 2026, the Williston Basin School District #7 School Board has voted to appoint a qualified individual to fill the position through June 30, 2027. The remaining two years of the term, from July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2029, will be filled through the regular election process.
There will not be a public voting process for this appointment; the school board will make the appointment.
Community members interested in being considered are encouraged to submit the required documents by the May 4 deadline outlined below.

Qualifications:
- A U.S. Citizen
- At least 18 years old on the day of the election
- A North Dakota resident
- A resident in the school district for at least the past 30 days
(Applicant must meet all qualifications)
Submission Deadline:
All submissions must be received by 4:00 PM CST on May 4, 2026.
Selection Timeline:
- May 5, 2026: Submitted applications will be provided to board members for review.
- May 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM: The board will hold a special meeting to appoint the new school board member.
Next Regular Board Meeting
- May 11, 2026, at 5:30 PM: The appointed individual will attend the meeting as a board member.
Appointed Term:
May 6, 2026 through June 30, 2027
