Exciting News! WBSD7 Food Pantry just received a generous donation of a whole cow's worth of frozen beef!🍔🍖 Big thanks to ConnectUs Therapy and a local ranching family who teamed up to provide this donation. 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗲 (𝗟-𝗥) 𝗞𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗮, 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗻 & 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲. Fallon was a counseling intern at ConnectUs Therapy last semester, working with Katie & Kayla. Kayla's parents, Don & Judy are ranchers near Watford City. They donated the cow, and ConnectUs Therapy covered the processing fees and delivered the frozen meat. ConnectUs Therapy also held a food drive in their office and donated those non-perishable items as well. We are proud to be part of this generous community! This is a message from WBSD7 School Board President, Chris Jundt: Dear Williston Basin School District #7 Community, This communication is to inform our Williston Basin School District #7 community of a modification to our Board meeting format due to recent disruptive incidents that compromised the safety and effectiveness of our in-person meetings. Regrettably, a few members of the community displayed highly unacceptable behavior during the last board meeting, leading to this necessary change. For the safety of all involved, the Williston Basin School District #7 Board meeting on January 22, 2024 will be conducted virtually, in accordance with NDCC 44-04-19. On the January 22nd Board agenda, the board will discuss the remainder of the meetings scheduled through June 30, 2024 and what needs to occur to return to an in person meeting environment that allows for the orderly conduct of business. Specific detail on how to join or view the virtual meeting will be provided in the notice as required by NDCC 44-04-20. We encourage everyone to review WBSD7 Board Governance Culture GC-4 and Policy BCAB, emphasizing our commitment to conducting meetings in an orderly and business-like manner, guided by Robert's Rules of Order. For those who wish to contribute their thoughts or concerns, we will maintain the option for public comments via electronic submission. Submissions will be read aloud during the public comment portion of the meeting, adhering to the existing guidelines for public comment. This allows for community engagement and ensures that your voices are heard, even in our virtual setting. While it's unfortunate that we needed to implement this change, our commitment to making decisions in the best interest of the district remains unwavering. We appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the safety and efficiency of our Board meetings. Sincerely, Mr. Chris Jundt School Board President WillistonSchools.org

𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 Ensuring the safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority at Williston Basin School District #7 (WBSD7). To enhance the protective measures in place, WBSD7 utilizes the Raptor Security System at all WBSD7 schools. raptortech.com Raptor Security is a visitor management system that is used to protect the students, staff, and visitors at our schools. The Raptor Security System reads the visitor's driver's license and compares that information to a national sex offender database. The Raptor Security system allows staff to implement an added layer of safety for staff and students. All schools in Williston Basin School District #7 utilize this system to enhance the safety and security at our schools. Upon arrival at a school, all visitors are asked to provide their driver’s license, at which time it will be scanned in the Raptor system. The system will print a visitor badge to wear during the visit. We thank you for your support in helping ensure the safety of staff and students. WBSD7 Policy KAA (Visitors in the School): ndsba.org/policies/willistonbasin/pdfs/KAAA.pdf The Board and District Administration encourage parents and community members to visit district schools to become better informed about day-to-day operations and observe the educational process. Because schools are places of work and learning, visitors shall observe the following requirements when visiting district schools, which are created to ensure the educational environment is not disrupted: 🔸All visitors must check into the front office with their Driver’s license/photo ID and wear a visitor’s badge for the entire duration of visit. 🔸Visitors shall comply with applicable state law and district policy/regulations while on school property. No person shall enter school property for unlawful purposes or for purposes unauthorized by the Board. The District shall enforce state law on willful disruption of schools. The Superintendent shall make a reasonable effort to keep the public informed about district policies pertaining to visitors such as, but not limited to drug, alcohol, and tobacco use; sexual offenders; patron grievances; and other policies designed to maintain order. 🔸Visitors are prohibited from engaging in disruptive conduct that is interfering or interrupting the orderly operation/management of the District, or that is insulting, harassing, or threatening toward district personnel. Visitors who engage in such conduct will immediately be asked to leave school property. 🔸Solicitors are not permitted on school property except when authorized in accordance with state law and/or applicable district policy. 🔸Visitors shall be prohibited from videotaping and/or otherwise electronically recording district students and staff. This policy does not apply to visitors electronically recording school-sponsored events not governed by copyright laws and non-school-sponsored activities and events held on school property. The Board may also create an exception to this policy for members of the press. 🔸Public visits to classrooms shall not be for the purpose of evaluating teachers, teaching methods, or curriculum. Visitors who wish to observe a classroom shall schedule their visits in advance according to administrative regulations. Visitors shall agree to follow this policy and any administrative regulations governing classroom observation prior to receiving classroom observation permission. Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding of our commitment to safety. By adhering to these procedures, we collectively contribute to the well-being of everyone within the WBSD7 community. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your cooperation in making our schools safe spaces for learning and growth.
