The Williston Basin School District #7 invites the community to celebrate the groundbreaking of its new elementary school on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 5:00 PM. The ceremony will take place in Williston Square at 1316 33rd St W.
Construction for the new elementary school will commence this fall, with the school slated to open its doors in August 2026. This project is made possible by the passing of the bond referendum in April 2024, a major milestone in addressing the district’s continued enrollment growth.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be held in partnership with JLG Architects, JE Dunn Construction, and the City of Williston.

Hagan students can return to their classrooms tomorrow, Thursday, August 22.
Maintenance staff are working closely with the kitchen equipment servicing company to address the issues promptly. Food services for hot foods will be provided from another WBSD7 location while repairs are underway. If the kitchen equipment cannot be repaired quickly, we will continue to deliver food services from an alternative WBSD7 site until the kitchen is fully operational again.

Today at Hagan Elementary, a gas leak related to kitchen equipment was detected just after 11:00 AM. Students and staff were promptly evacuated to the playground. Once Montana-Dakota Utilities and the Williston Fire Department confirmed the presence of a gas leak that necessitated an off-site evacuation, students were transported to the Raymond Family Center for reunification with their parents/guardians.
Reunification began at 12:30 PM, and during this time, students were provided with lunch and activities to keep them comfortable while they waited. The reunification process went smoothly, with most students being reunified by 1:30 PM and the process fully completed by 2:15 PM.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Hagan students, staff, and families, as well as the WBSD7 reunification team, community helpers, and everyone else who played a role in making this process as smooth and comfortable for the students as possible.

Hagan students have been safely relocated to The Raymond Family Community Center at 1002 11th St W.
Please enter through the front entrance on the south side of the building.
They are now available for pick-up. Lunch and activities are being provided to ensure students remain comfortable. We kindly ask for a calm and orderly pick-up process.
ID REQUIRED
Please arrange for yourself or a designated person to pick up your child, ensuring whomever presents for reunification has a proper Photo ID (AND authorization from a parent, if it’s a designated person and not the parent picking up).
If it is not a parent picking up the student, the person should show a text message from the parent's phone number (listed in PowerSchool) indicating that the person is authorized to pick up the student.
We understand that this is a distressing situation for parents, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

🔸𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲: 𝟴/𝟮𝟭/𝟮𝟰 𝟭𝟮:𝟬𝟰 𝗣𝗠
Due to a confirmed gas leak, Hagan Elementary School is currently undergoing evacuation protocol, following the guidance of MDU. Parents/Guardians were contact by text/email alert.
Students and staff will now be relocated to a reunification site as per our Standard Response Protocol. Parents will be notified once the children are safely at the reunification location.
Buses are transporting their students to the designated site. A follow-up message will be sent to parents when the students are ready to be picked up.
Please DO NOT drive over to Hagan School to pick up your student, as it may impede the safe relocation process. Our District Standard Response Team and school staff, trained in handling such situations, will utilize the Standard Response Procedure Reunification Process to ensure the secure tracking and reunification of all students and staff at the designated site.
