📚✨ College Application Day at WHS! ✨📚
Today, our senior students are taking the next big step in their educational journey as they apply for colleges and explore various career options. 🌟
Haley Jeanotte, our High School Career Counselor, has been the driving force behind this day-long event. Special thanks to our Grade 12 English Teachers, Tawnia Cummings and Anne Rauschendorfer, for hosting and guiding our students throughout the day in their classrooms.
We had fantastic support from Williston State College, North Dakota State University, University of Jamestown, Dickinson State University and Minot State University, who were on hand to assist our students with their college applications and answer their questions.
In addition, our students had access to the RUReadyND program on a giant touch-screen monitor, providing them with insights into various careers and work-based learning opportunities available on the website - secure.ruready.nd.gov/
As a fantastic bonus, Bank of North Dakota generously covered the cost of one college application per student. 🙌
A big thank you to everyone involved in making College Application Day a success! 🎓📝

🌟 Spotlight on Outstanding Citizenship: Meet Katherine!
Our 8th-grade student, Katherine, is making a significant impact on our school community by taking the initiative to address a pressing issue – vandalism. 😊
Early in the school year, Katherine noticed vandalism affecting student life and decided to do something about it. She created a Vandalism Reporting [Google] Form specifically for Williston Middle School Central Campus.📋
But she didn't stop there! Katherine went the extra mile by designing a flyer with detachable QR codes to hang in our hallways. This made it easy for students to access and fill out the vandalism report form whenever they encountered an issue. 📲
Katherine handed over the reins to her principal, Mr. Heser, ensuring that the form is being used for its intended purpose. And it's working! Mr. Heser reports that they have received several submissions since the form's creation, helping to reduce incidents of vandalism in our school. 🛡️
Katherine's dedication and leadership don't end here. She and her friends also contributed valuable ideas to enhance our bullying report form. 👏
Katherine's story is a shining example of empowering others to stand up for themselves and their school in a safe and constructive way. Her initiative also helps deter students from getting involved in vandalizing and bullying behaviors. 🙌
Katherine says, "I am excited that it is working - that people are actually noticing it and using it!" We're excited too, Katherine, and we're grateful for your outstanding citizenship and initiative! Keep up the fantastic work! 🌟

Celebrating National Custodial Workers Day!
Today, we take a moment to honor the unsung heroes who keep our schools shining bright. It's National Custodial Workers Day, and we're thrilled to recognize the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our learning environment is clean, safe, and welcoming.
Our custodial staff goes above and beyond, often working late into the night and early mornings to ensure that every nook and cranny of our school is spick and span. They're the ones who tackle spills, fix what's broken, and make sure our classrooms and hallways are in top-notch condition.
Their hard work, dedication, and attention to detail create the foundation for a positive learning experience. They contribute to the health and well-being of our entire school community, and for that, we are incredibly grateful.
Please join us in expressing our heartfelt thanks to our custodial team. Let's show them the appreciation they truly deserve for their unwavering commitment to making our school a better place.
👏 Thank you, custodial staff, for all that you do! 👏
