Maintenance staff are working closely with the kitchen equipment servicing company to address the issues promptly. Food services for hot foods will be provided from another WBSD7 location while repairs are underway. If the kitchen equipment cannot be repaired quickly, we will continue to deliver food services from an alternative WBSD7 site until the kitchen is fully operational again. 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲’𝐬 𝐆𝐚𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 Today at Hagan Elementary, a gas leak related to kitchen equipment was detected just after 11:00 AM. Students and staff were promptly evacuated to the playground. Once Montana-Dakota Utilities and the Williston Fire Department confirmed the presence of a gas leak that necessitated an off-site evacuation, students were transported to the Raymond Family Center for reunification with their parents/guardians. Reunification began at 12:30 PM, and during this time, students were provided with lunch and activities to keep them comfortable while they waited. The reunification process went smoothly, with most students being reunified by 1:30 PM and the process fully completed by 2:15 PM. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Hagan students, staff, and families, as well as the WBSD7 reunification team, community helpers, and everyone else who played a role in making this process as smooth and comfortable for the students as possible. The previously planned 25-minute sessions immediately before each board meeting will be replaced with longer (approximately 1 hour), public engagement sessions held quarterly. These quarterly sessions will offer a platform for the board to inform the public of district operations, dialogue with constituents about student education, and communicate the vision and mission of Williston Basin School District #7. The board understands that it's important to have an informal environment where the community can discuss school district matters with their school board. The first of these new quarterly sessions will be scheduled to take place before November 1. Further details will be finalized and shared after our monthly meeting September 3. The school board appreciates your continued involvement and support of Williston Basin School District #7.
